Over the past few years, In The Game has always gone out
of its way to pay tribute to goaltenders and was the first
hockey card manufacturer to devote an entire product to the
men that play the position.
The 2001-02 edition of Between The Pipes was a landmark
release and it has spawned a number of follow-up issues that
have been a big hit with collectors everywhere. Goalies have
always been a hobby cornerstone since the days of trading on
the schoolyard and the 2006-07 Between The Pipes release
draws from the past, present and future of the game for the
first time.
This 150-card base set is loaded with many of today's top
young goaltenders alongside the greatest players to guard
the cage and there are a number of exciting subsets that
will appeal to collectors. Future Stars is all about the
best netminders from the AHL and CHL and Stars of the Game
focuses on today's best guardians such as Martin Brodeur,
Roberto Luongo and Dominik Hasek. Celebrating the game's
rich history are the Greats of the Game and Immortals. Each
card delivers a look at what made each player a legend.
Collectors will enjoy the Team Canada, First Round Picks,
Tandems and Record Breakers subsets, which feature slick
designs and insight into each player.
Between The Pipes will feature more goalie Autograph
cards than can be find anywhere else in the hobby. These
signature cards will have their own unique design apart from
the base card set and will feature the classy foil-stamping
that In The Game has become known for in the hobby. For the
first time, a Between The Pipes product will have literally
hundreds of different autograph cards that should satisfy
even the most advanced goaltender collector.
The Mask IV is the continuation of one of In The Game's
most popular concepts and each of these cards is printed
utilizing proprietary foil technology. Hockey fans love
goalie masks and over 30 of them will be featured in this
set. Look for hot young talents such as Cam Ward and Andrew
Raycroft along with legends such as Patrick Roy and Jacques
Plante. In The Game will also randomly insert Forgotten
Franchises cards in packs and this set pays tribute to a
number of teams that time has left behind and reintroduces
them to today's fans.
In The Game will also deliver an incredible array of
game-used memorabilia cards that can be found in packs of
Between The Pipes. The excitement starts with our
always-popular Game-Used Jersey cards and this 70-card
collection has a new twist for 2006-07. Not only will there
be single jersey cards featuring a huge swatch but several
of the players will have two jersey swatches and even three
jersey swatches featured on their cards. Each card will also
have a Game-Used Emblem and Game-Used Number variation
(including doubles and triples) and an Autograph version
will also be available for a number of players.
